On Sunday 4 September from 09:00 to 12:00, a workshop on the in vitro cultivation of blood parasites will be given at the Institute for Parasitology and Tropical Veterinary Medicine, Robert-von-Ostertag-Str. 7-13, 14163, Berlin. This venue can be reached by public transport from the conference venue in about 1 hour. 

During the workshop which is aimed at beginners, the theory, essential techniques and best practices of the cultivation of different blood parasites such as Anaplasma, Babesia, Theileria, and Trypanosoma spp. will be demonstrated. Hands-on experience on basic cell culture techniques, freezing and thawing of cells and media preparation is provided.

The workshop is open for registered AITVM-STVM 2016 conference participants only, with a maximum of 18 attendees. Pre-registration for this workshop is required.
