Artificial Tick Feeding Workshop
On Sunday 4 September from 13:00 to 16:30, a workshop on the artificial feeding of ticks will be given at the Institute for Parasitology and Tropical Veterinary Medicine, Robert-von-Ostertag-Str. 7-13, 14163, Berlin. This venue can be reached by public transport from the conference venue in about 1 hour.
During the workshop, different artificial tick feeding methods will be presented and discussed. Results and insight from a project on the 'Optimization and automation of artificial tick feeding', financed by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) under grant 031A228, will also be presented. Participants will receive hands-on experience in the main methods, including the preparation of silicone feeding membranes.
The workshop is open for registered AITVM-STVM 2016 conference participants only, with a maximum of 18 attendees. Pre-registration for this workshop is required.
